FOCUSED ON MEDITATION & MINDFUL MOVEMENT

I began consistently practicing yoga in 2015. I truly discovered my passion for meditation and mindful movement while completing my BSc. Psychology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO). I became heavily involved in the Kelowna yoga community and began using the practice as a way to cope with anxiety and stress.

In December 2020 I officially completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training through Elevate Yoga Okanagan. I became involved as an executive for the UBCO Yoga Club and began leading classes for UBCO Recreation in August 2021. I strive to continue to expand my knowledge of yoga by attending various workshops and continuing education. I completed my 200-hour meditation teacher training in September 2021 and created my Introduction to Meditation Course shortly after. In September 2023 I returned to UBCO campus as a Clinical Master of Social Work student while maintaining my involvement with UBCO Recreation and the Yoga Club.

I aim to create a warm, supportive environment that is welcoming for all students. I utilize a trauma-informed approach that encourages individuals to listen to their bodies and take what they need from and during the practice. In all my classes I emphasize the use of yoga and mindfulness as tools for stress reduction

When not on a yoga mat, I can be found hiking, snowboarding, weight-lifting, reading, taking photos, crocheting, camping, or socializing with family and friends!
